A complete solution for running a PCR

(Extraction -> Amplification -> Staining -> Reading)

DNA Extraction:

Traditional methods for isolation of genomic DNA from mouse tails, ear pieces, yolk sac, and culture cells have number of disadvantages, such as the use of multistep procedures and high toxicity. Using these methods, for instance, for genotyping of large number of transgenic mice is virtually impossible due to the amount of time and effort that are required.

Gentaur present to you single-tube system DirectPCR Lysis Reagent for rapid preparation of DNA product which is easy to use, requires very few steps and enables you to obtain a large amount of DNA samples in a short period of time. The protocol is user-friendly and easy to follow . The full procedure may be found in the datasheets of the products below.

Features and benefits of the DirectPCR Lysis Reagent trade mark:

Fast: Reduced number of steps, time efficient easy to follow protocol

Selective: Suppresses only the inhibitors for the PCR and maintains the integrity of the genomic DNA

Robust: Components allowing the resulting DNA extract to be suitable for genotyping

Reliable: Guaranteed results and high yields

Efficient: Speed and quality combined

Ecological: Reduced usage of materials such as harsh chemicals, organic solvents, tips, etc.

Cost-effective: Not only the product itself has a very competitive price but it also reduces expenses related to labor and accessory consumable.

Safe: No dangerous chemicals are involved in the procedure

Proteinase K

Proteinase K is a serine proteinase that ensures degradation of proteins bound to the nucleic acids in the samples. Addition of proteinase K is a step required for a proper sample preparation for a variety of molecular biology analysis such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) for genotyping, pulse electrophoresis Real Time polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR).

Gentaur helps you complete this final step to a successful DNA extraction with our Genomic PCR Grade Proteinase K Powder.

Features and benefits of Genomic PCR Grade Proteinase K Powder:

Universal: Could be used in a wide pH range. Optimal activity between 6.5 and 9.5

Robust: Works in harsh conditions, in presence of SDS, urea, chelating agents, high temperatures, etc. (temperature optimum 65°C)

Reliable: Tested for the absence of endodeoxyribonucleases, exodeoxyribonucleases and ribonucleases

Cost-effective: Stable for 2 years and suitable for preparing large number of samples

Staining

Staining of the gel electrophoresis of DNA and RNA is often necessary in various experiments. The traditional methodology for staining of nucleic acids is by using EtBr (Ethidium bromide), a chemical known to possess mutagenic properties and toxicity. Our RedSafe Nucleic Acid Staining Solution is an alternative to the EtBr, it is a safe nucleic acid stain for nucleic acid in agarose gels. When the Red Safe binds to DNA or RNA green fluorescence is emitted. The Redsafe solution has two fluorescence excitation maxima when bound to nucleic acid, one centered at 309 nm and another at 419 nm. In addition, it has one visible excitation at 514 nm. The fluorescence emission of RedSafe when bound to DNA is centered at 537 nm.

The RedSafe product is cost-efficient - 1ml vial can stain up to 20L agarose gel. The working procedure and sensitivity are very much the same as of the EtBr.

How much safer is the RedSafe? - Ames test proves lower mutation rates with Redsafe in comparison to EtBr, a known strong mutagen. RedSafe tested negative in mouse marrow chromophilous erythrocyte micronucleus test and mouse spermary spermatocyte chromosomal aberration test.
